MEET OUR PASTOR: Pastor Ricky A. Rohrig Sr. is the founding pastor of Crossroads Community Church in Red Oak. He is anointed and gifted in many areas, but not limited to some of the following; an effective preacher and teacher of God’s word, a prayer warrior, and a musician and singer/songwriter. He has over 20 years of experience in different facets of ministry.
He has a heart and a passion for evangelism and discipleship making. Pastor Ricky is consistent, constantly, and continually challenging, while encouraging Christians to grow closer and deeper in their walk with Jesus, or start one if they haven't. He believes the church (God’s People) need to meet people where they are.
Pastor Ricky serves his community, state, region, and country... Pastor Ricky is a Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) endorsed Healthcare Chaplain at Red Oak and Villisca, Iowa Good Samaritan Societies, a certified Montgomery County 1st Responder Chaplain, an SBC trained disaster relief chaplain, the President of the Montgomery County Iowa Ministerial Fellowship (MCMF), a Presidential member of The American Association of Christian Counselors, as well as specialized memberships in Grief,Crisis, and Disaster, Biblical Counseling & Spiritual Formation, Addiction & Recovery, and Marriage and Family. Pastor Ricky has also earned a Life-Affirming Specialist (LAS)endorsement from Heartbeat International. The LAS designation shows that you have studied and are aware of the latest research and findings surrounding life-affirming information and training.
Pastor Ricky is currently working on a Doctor of Theology in Pastoral Theology from Andersonville Theological Seminary. He has the following earned degrees: Master of Arts in Religion from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, a Bachelor of Science and Associates degrees from Upper Iowa University.
His life verses are Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV): 5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Pastor Ricky's personal ministry motto is preaching the word, teaching the people, reaching the world for Jesus Christ in love, one life at a time!
Pastor Ricky and his wife Melanie have a total of seven children: Tobias, Ricky Jr. (R.J.), Izabella, Zoie, Zane, Zariah, and Zadriana.
